UGH~ and AHH

Do you realize that in the Senate there is a Health Care bill ready to be voted on, that no one has read yet. You and I can't even read it yet. It's the Bacus bill. I may have spelled his name wrong...PARDON!.

I like my health care I don't want the government in my health care if they don't have to be, and for me they don't have to be.

Do you know that any health care bill that the legislature passes will not go into effect for 4 years? Why the rush I ask you? Why the rush to pass the bill and why the wait to enact it? Could it be lawmakers want to wait until after reelection to have shit hit the fan?

In other news, I finally got a permanent shift at work. About a month ago I was awarded a permanent shift and then we had to rebid and I didn't know for sure if I would get another shift, but as of yesterday I am permanent.!!! Along with the permanent position comes permanent pay. Which is a raise of $3 for me!!!! WOO HOO!

Other happenings- I let Noah put up the Halloweeny type stickers I bought at Wally's. Normally I guide him with placement, but this year I let him have at it. We have a purple shiny wreath on the door and we're calling it good!

Starry Nights

I found something to be thankful for on days that I don't get home from work until 12 midnight. I pulled up to the house last night and got out of the car, it was such a clear night out, beautiful in fact. I lifted my head to the heavens and was witness to the most beautiful Starry Sky. What a sight to see...sometimes you feel truly blessed!!!

Sunny Days

Here in the Seattle area we are enjoying really beautiful weather. Hot Summer days and cool Fall Evenings. I was off for 4 days and it was nice to actually have good weather on my days off.
I had a busy weekend. Noah had soccer on Saturday and he scored a goal. I forgot to take the camera so as usual there are no pictures.
After soccer, we all went school shopping to pick up a few more items for the kids. Next it was off to lunch at Red Robins. We were all so hungry, we had room for dessert after scarfing down burgers and fries.

I have 10 days left on the shift that I'm on and then I go to that permanent shift that I won and then lost I posted a little about that last week. I go there to work for 2 weeks and then either go on call or to another shift. I'll be bidding on another shift in a few days and should know by next week where my new...new shift will be or if I go on call. ( I know it's confusing)

FIrst day of School WOO HOO!

Open your eyes really Big then maybe you can see Noah on his first day of the new school year. I took the picture with my iphone, right when the school bus was coming down the road.

I was in my jammies and didn't want to cause the boy any trauma by running out to the street to snap a picture.

See that ugly patch of dirt? Hubby was going to put concrete there last year. Maybe tomorrow I will buy some grass seeds and throw them down, perhaps they'll take before winter sets in.

Okay back to cleaning, Ari is sick so I'm disinfecting the bathrooms and house.

BOO HOO

I'm sorry for my lack of blogging and boring blogging for that fact too. My schedule at work really takes a toll on my old body. Today is day 9 of 10 for me on the ferry. I'm plum tuckered out! I've been working on the car deck the past week, lots of stairs involved in the job, so my legs are aching, even tho I know the exercise is doing me more good than harm, sore is still sore.

I had to title this post Boo Hoo, because ..BECAUSE... I lost that nice new permanent job that I had. Due to the Union finally settling on a schedule with the Ferries and vise versa. It's too complicated to explain, but in a nutshell we have to bid on jobs again. It's a do over, so I'm back to square one.

Other than that the kids go to school tomorrow and Ari is starting to get sick so we'll see if she goes to school or not. She's a Junior in High School this year, Noah is in the 4th grade and Zach continues to work at Safeway and he's 21.

WOO HOO!

I got a Permanent Position with the ferries! Woo HOO! What does this mean? Well it means that I go from On Call status to having a regular watch. Starting on the 27th of this month I also will make top pay for my position. This is huge, the raise alone will pay for my car I bought.
The only scary part about the new position I got is that the Deck hands and our union is "negotiating " better schedules for the new year so my hours may change and maybe even my watch but once you are on a permanent schedule your in!

Other things on my mind? I've been keeping up with my house lately and it brings me JOY! I like working around the house and homemaking, it makes me feel good. Everyday I pick out an area in the house to work on. The other day I went thru every piece of junk mail making sure to sort and purge and save. I have plans on cleaning out the downstairs coat closet too, and adding some organizing touches that I saw in a magazine. :)
